Police in Macduff are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was followed through the town early on Sunday morning.
The incident happened at around 2am on Skene Street and the man, described as being of Asian appearance and in his twenties, followed her to the Banff bridge.
A passing police car stopped to help the girl, who was uninjured but left shaken.
The man, who has since been charged and appeared at court on Monday, was wearing a red or orange t-shirt, blue jeans and dark blue high top trainers.
The girl was wearing a black body warmer, pink hooded top and black leggings.
