Community groups in Kincardine and Mearns have been encouraged to bid for their share of a £70,000 pot of council cash before time runs out.
Aberdeenshire Council’s area committee budget for the areas makes thousands of pounds of funding available every year for good causes in the region, but due to Covid-19, there has been a lack of applications.
North Kincardine councillor Colin Pike has now encouraged organisations to get their bids in now, so that they can be properly processed and rubber-stamped before the year is through.
He said: “Because of the pandemic situation, we are sitting here in September with £70,000 in our budget.
“We need to give it away effectively by the end of December, as we need those applications in and approved because the applicants need to have the money spent and receipted by the end of our financial year in March.”
