Members of the public will be able to look around Aberdeen’s historic Bon Accord Baths for the first time in more than a decade this weekend.
Bon Accord Heritage, the charity hoping to restore the B-listed building to its former glory, will host open days on Saturday and Sunday.
The art deco facility opened to the public 80 years ago, but was closed by the city council in 2008.
It is hoped that opening up part of the building for community use could spark renewed interest in a full rejuvenation.
Currently a deep clean is underway to remove graffiti and rubbish dumped in the now-empty pool.
A spokeswoman said: “This weekend also marks the launch of a vital fundraising campaign for essential work required to the building.
“Bringing back the pool for community use is our long-term aspiration, however this historic art deco building requires more immediate work to stabilise its condition against further Aberdeen winters.
“This in turn will allow us to open more areas of the building for community activities and events.”
Guided tours of the facility will be available on both days this weekend from 10am-4pm.
Face coverings will be required inside the building, and those queueing outside on Justice Mill Lane are asked to follow physical distancing guidelines.
