An Aberdeenshire families group has been nominated for a national award.
The Echt to the Lecht Parents’ Network have made it to the semi-finals of the Adult Learners’ Week awards for their volunteer work.
The group, which operates in Alford, organises low-cost activities for families with children under-five such as messy play, arts and crafts, walks and days out.
Clare Walker, chairwoman of Echt to the Lecht, said: “We are delighted to get through to the semi-finals of the awards as everyone has worked really hard to get the group off the ground.
“We are run by parents for parents and so we always welcome new members.”
The group will find out next month if it is through to the final.
