Aberdeen businesses have raised £30,000 to kit out youngsters with warm winter jackets.
Since 2018, Cala Homes has sponsored an event bringing companies from around the north-east together to boost the Cash for Kids initiative’s coat appeal.
When it was cancelled, table hosts who had booked to attend donated their fee to the worthy cause.
Michelle Ferguson, the charity’s manager, said: “Our ‘coats for kids’ appeal is a fundraising campaign to provide clothing vouchers to children who do not have warm winter clothes to enable them to purchase a winter coat, hat, scarf gloves and shoes.”
Last year the appeal managed to provide more than 1,500 vouchers to families in need, a number that the charity believes will significantly increase this year.
Cala Homes managing director, Mike Naysmith, said: “This generosity will help Cash for Kids meet voucher requests at a time when many charities have seen a drop in donations due to cancelled fundraising events.”
