A man was taken to hospital with a head injury yesterday after a car overturned on a scenic Aberdeen road.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the man and one other person after the accident, which happened on the old Coast Road at Cove just before 4pm.
The road remains closed while emergency services cleared the scene – and was reopened by 5pm.
A police spokeswoman said: “One male was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a minor head injury. There were two people in the vehicle, which had overturned. The road was closed to allow the car to be removed.”
Meanwhile, two drivers sustained minor injuries after a two car crash at St Cyrus in Aberdeenshire.
Two Ford vehicles were involved, a blue Ka, and a red Focus, with both casualties being taken to hospital for treatment.
Emergency services were sent to the scene, on the A92 Stonehaven to St Cyrus road at Roadside Terrace just after 3pm.
One of the drivers had to be cut from their vehicle by firefighters.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.23pm to reports of a two vehicle crash on the A92 in St Cyrus. Cutting equipment was used to free one of the drivers. We sent two appliances from Inverbervie and Laurencekirk, and then also requested one from Montrose.”
The road was closed for two hours while the vehicles were cleared, and reopened at 5pm.
