A man has been fined after he drunkenly shouted obscenities at Aberdeen International Airport workers when he was deemed too drunk to get on a flight.
Jason Taulier, 42, was sentenced at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting to being intoxicated at the airport on March 13.
He also admitted failing to tell officers his name and address when questioned, lashing out at police officers during the arrest, and behaving in an abusive manner.
Defence agent Paul Barnett told the court Taulier, from Kingsmills in Elgin, had been drinking at a party the night before.
When he arrived at the airport, Mr Barnett said Taulier made the “unfortunate” decision to drink more at the bar to “alleviate the effects of the hangover”.
When told he was not allowed to fly, Taulier started shouting, and was arrested by the police after not divulging his identity or address.
Mr Barnett said Taulier was “embarrassed”, and apologised to the officers.
Sheriff Philip Mann fined him £740.
