A total of 1,246 people across Scotland have received positive results since yesterday. The latest update from the Scottish Government shows the number of positive cases since the outbreak began has risen to 35,787. The new cases represent 16.2% of newly tested individuals. A total of 397 people are in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 and 33 of those are receiving treatment in intensive care. Six new coronavirus-linked deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 836,310 people in Scotland have been tested. A regional breakdown of the data shows there have been 68 new cases in Grampian since yesterday. The north-east’s total is now 2,593. The total of positive cases in the Highlands has risen to 772 after 14 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours. In the Western Isles, three new cases have been recorded, which brings the region’s total to 56. There have been no new cases recorded in Shetland or Orkney leaving their cumulative totals on 60 and 23 respectively.
