An Aberdeen woman punched her mother in the face while she slept after an early morning drinking session.
Catherine Quinn, of Virginia Court, pleaded guilty to the assault when she appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court via video link yesterday.
The court heard that the 32-year-old had gone to her mother Belinda Quinn’s home with her partner at around 6.45am on Monday, June 15, to “drink alcohol and socialise”.
Around two hours later her mum fell asleep but was awoken at 10.30am by her daughter punching her in the face.
Ms Quinn sen fled the house and the police were called as she sat on the stairwell with blood running down her nose.
Defence agent David Sutherland said his client had been brought up in an “environment of alcohol and drugs” and had decided her mother was responsible for her lifestyle.
Quinn was sent to jail for 100 days.
