A Steinway grand piano owned by Annie Lennox has sold for more than £35,000 at auction.
The singer had owned the instrument for more than 30 years.
It was auctioned at Bonhams in their Entertainment Memorabilia sale this week and went to the highest bidder for £35,062.
Proceeds will go to The Circle, a charitable foundation Lennox set up in 2008 to help support women and girls around the world.
The former Eurythmics star, 65, said: “I started to learn to play the piano at the age of seven, in 1961 in my home town of Aberdeen, practicing on an old upright in the front room of the tenement flat where I lived with my mother and father.
“In those days I never would have dreamed that I would have had the opportunity to play on a grand piano, let alone own one.”
