A group of volunteers, with no other incentive than the love of music, were delighted at the public response to a city festival.
The Aberdeen and North East of Scotland Music Festival 2014, held earlier this month, attracted participants of all ages, playing numerous kinds of music.
Venues ranged from the refurbished Crown Terrace Baptist Church, to the Music Hall in Union Street.
One of the promoters, 17-year-old Adriana Draghici, said: “We were happy that people cared enough to come along.
“My highlight was violinist Amy Birse, who won the overall prize. She wants to be a professional musician in London, and I think she is good enough to do it.
“The festival closed with a chance to hear highly talented performers, including Lina Murray on the piano, and Gavin Hunter on the trumpet.”
