Three north-east charities will benefit from a upcoming fundraising event.
Choices Aberdeen, Aberdeen Cyrenians and Mental Health Aberdeen (MHA) will all receive money from this year’s Sportschallenge, which is run by Simmons and Company International.
The contest, which is being held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) on September 11, will be hosted by former Scottish footballer Alan McInally and sports presenter Jim White.
The sold-out event raised more than £100,000 for north-east charities last year.
Nick Dalgarno, managing director at Simmons, said: “Every year Sportschallenge gives us the chance to give something back to the community through support for deserving local charities.
“The money raised will make a real difference to people in the north-east, going directly to charities which provide much-needed support and care.”
Choices Aberdeen promotes offers support to youth groups and young mothers. The money raised will allow it to extend its education and intervention work.
Aberdeen Cyrenians offers a range of services to help the homeless in the city and is currently receiving record numbers of requests for help.
MHA provides counselling, advice and day support services to people experiencing mental health difficulties in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Money from the evening will also towards Simmons’s continuing support of Maggie’s Aberdeen and Children’s Aid.
