A car and a motorbike were reduced to charred ruins after an incident in an Aberdeen park.
A fire and rescue service spokeswoman said the car was set alight last night in Sheddocksley playing fields, next to Sheddocksley Sports Centre.
The burnt out motorcycle remains a mystery, however.
A fire crew from North Anderson Drive was called to the area at around 11.15pm after reports of a car on fire.
The fire spokeswoman confirmed that “a cause has been determined” as to how the fire had started, but would not reveal any more details.
She added: “A car was on fire in Sheddocksley, we got the call at 11.13pm. One high pressure jet and a breathing apparatus was used.”
A forestry team from Altens was also sent to the scene due to the fire’s proximity to woodlands.
She added: “A forestry team was sent because it was in the middle of a field.”
The fire was contained by about 12pm.
A police spokesman said they had been made aware of the incident, but added they were “still making inquiries”.
He added that officers were attempting to trace the owner of the car.
Neither the fire and rescue service or police were informed about the fire of a motorcycle, which was left burnt out close to the car.
