A new community cafe could open in Aberdeen as part of a joint venture between a church and university students.
Torry St Fittick’s Parish Church has teamed-up with a group studying project management at the Robert Gordon University for the project, which would involve opening a coffee house in Victoria Road.
It is hoped the venue would be open at least five days a week.
Run by volunteers, it would double-up as a charity shop with the profits going to a different good cause each month.
A feasibility study is now being carried out.
Masters student Georgia O’Dwyer said: “We want to emphasise the purpose of the project is not so much to generate money but to bring the community together – to build a place where people can be sociable and relax.
“It will create volunteer opportunities and we’re looking for anyone who makes arts and crafts to get involved.”
