The arrival of the Queen’s Baton Relay in Aberdeen could be greeted with sunshine, according to forecasters.
But the Met Office says that temperatures might only reach around 15C on Monday.
Today the baton is in Angus, where it has passed through Carnoustie, East Haven and Arbroath.
It will end its journey tonight in Montrose and will start from Stonehaven tomorrow morning.
The Aberdeen celebrations on Monday include a two-hour concert at Union Terrace Gardens.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Frank Saunders said: “For anyone watching or taking part in the Queen’s baton relay it should be quite a good day although it will be cloudy, there are likely to be some sunny spells in the afternoon and temperatures should reach mid teens.”
The baton is on its way around Scotland, covering more than 400 communities in advance of the start of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on July 23.
