A team of north-east fitness fanatics have raised more than £3,000 for a leading cancer charity.
About 30 regulars at Barry Stephen Personal Training in Aberdeen tackled the notorious Tough Mudder at Dalkeith – enduring electric shocks and ice baths – in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Collectively, the team covered a distance of 372 miles.
Barry Stephen, who owns the city-centre gym, said they were inspired to raise money for the charity as one of his members is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
“It is a great testament to him that we have been able to raise £3,463 for the charity,” he said.
“Several of our members have been affected by blood cancers in their immediate family and as a result we’ve committed to supporting the charity in the coming months.
“Many of those who took part have already committed to doing the event again and along with other initiatives we hope to be able to donate more than £10,000 to the charity over the next year.”
