A mental health nurse accused of acting inappropriately towards patients will go before his profession’s watchdog this month.
Gilbert Forbes worked for NHS Grampian four years ago, but the allegations stem from his employment with the South of Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
Mr Forbes was working at the facility when he allegedly tried to kiss and put his arm around a patient.
He also faces a string of other charges relating to sending patients both twitter and text messages.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) will consider the four charges, which date from May 25, 2012 to May 29, 2012 at a fitness to practise hearing on July 21.
The allegations against him are that on May 25 he accessed Service User A’s patient records on two occasions with no clinical reason for doing so.
He is also accused of sending Twitter messages to Service user A between May 25,2012 and June 4, 2012.
In addition, on May 29, 2012 during a meeting with Service User A in Ryde, Isle of Wight he is alleged to have acted inappropriately by putting his arm around Service User A on one or more occasions, and trying to kiss Service User A on one or more occasions.
An NHS Grampian spokeswoman confirmed that he had worked for NHS Grampian, but left the organisation in 2010.
