A person has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a suspected broken leg following a crash on a busy Aberdeenshire road.
The collision involving two vehicles happened on the A90 at the Toll of Birness at around 7am, and caused severe traffic delays.
A police spokeswoman said: “The person appears to have a broken leg and was taken to ARI. The road was fully open again by 8.30am. We got the call at 7.03am.”
Large traffic queues were caused in both directions as police directed traffic between the A952 junction and the A920 junction.
Two ambulances and two fire appliances were in attendance at the crash.
It took emergency services time to clear debris from the road and remove the vehicles.
A fire service spokesman said: “We didn’t really have anything to do with it, we just disconnected a couple of batteries. We sent two pumps from Ellon.
“We got the call at 7.10am and got the stop message at 7.25am.”
An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “We got a call at 7.01am for a two vehicle road traffic accident. We’re bringing one person to ARI.”
The vehicles have now been recovered and the road reopened.
