Two men have been charged for speeding at more than 100mph on a major road in Aberdeenshire this week.
A 27-year-old was charged by police for driving at 120mph on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road, near Stonehaven, on Tuesday.
Additionally, police said a 35-year-old man was caught on the same stretch of a busy dual carriageway for travelling at 111mph just before 3pm yesterday.
Police are cracking down on dangerous driving in the region as part of Operation Cedar.
Road policing sergeant, Neil Morrison, said: “This is a significant result for Operation Cedar, which was specifically launched to educate drivers and detect incidents such as these which can put other people’s lives at serious risk.
“We are determined to do everything we can to make our roads safer and we would encourage all motorists to think about their actions whilst on the road and drive in a responsible manner, as speeding can have devastating consequences.
“The safety of motorists and working to reduce the number of casualties on our roads is our number one priority and this is reflected in the ongoing work under the Operation Cedar initiative to clamp-down on such behaviour, and we will continue to do so over the coming weeks and months.”
