There was something for everyone at an annual gala event in a north-east town at the weekend – and the fun is due to continue today.
Hundreds of people have been enjoying the Fraserburgh Gala, a community event which was revived two years ago by a group of volunteers.
It aims to provide a range of activities for residents, with as little cost to them as possible.
Since then, it has gone from strength to strength and on Saturday, Fraserburgh Links was transformed for the fun day.
A variety of local trade stalls were on offer, while the crowds were kept entertained with a events including a baby show and a strongman competition.
A family 5k fun run was also held at James Ramsay Park before a disco at the town’s leisure centre.
The gala festivities began on Friday with participants testing their brain power in a quiz night at the leisure centre.
Youngsters also got to enjoy a bit of fun as they took part in a fancy dress competition on Saturday, while there was a Churches Together service yesterday.
Other events planned as part of the gala, which continues today, are a sandcastle building competition at 1pm and a tea dance at the leisure centre from 2pm.
The popular ‘It’s a Knockout’ event, which had spectators cheering in the streets last year, will be held tomorrow from 11am.
