North-east holiday-makers will have another destination to choose from when flying from Aberdeen.
Airline easyJet announced the introduction of a new link between the north-east and Geneva.
The new route to Switzerland is due to launch on December 13 and will operate weekly until April 2015.
Ali Gayward, commercial manager for easyJet, said: “We are pleased to add an exciting, new European destination to our Aberdeen network – taking our total volume of flights up to 40 per week during winter.
“We believe the beautiful City of Geneva will be a popular choice with holidaymakers looking for a weekend break at Lake Geneva and skiers seeking easy and affordable access to Europe’s slopes.”
The airline will operate the flights using a 156 seater Airbus A319 and expects to carry more than 3,500 passengers to and from Geneva throughout the winter.
Carol Benzie, managing director of Aberdeen International Airport, added: ” There are a lot of keen skiers in this area used to accessing local ski resorts with ease, and I am confident that they will make the most of this opportunity to hit the slopes on the continent over the winter months.
The new route is easyJet’s third destination from Aberdeen, alongside daily flights to Luton and Gatwick.
