Golf fan tries to sneak Mickelson highland whisky during Open

A female fan has tried to sneak her golfing hero a bottle of her favourite Highland whisky.
Mo Thomas, 67, was attending the Scottish Open for one day of the competition with her daughter, Cathy Thomas, 34.
Mrs Thomas, from Aviemore, tried to get close enough to Phil Mickelson on the 17th hole to grab a hold of his golf bag in an attempt to sneak him some of her beloved Tomatin whisky.
The pair, who are members of Carrbridge Golf Club, watched the five time championship winner play at the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart last year but “didn’t get a chance” to hand him a bottle of the malt.
And although her latest attempt was also unsuccessful, she described the day as “lovely”, adding that she would still “like a Scottish boy to win” the event, despite her fondness for Mr Mickelson.
