Visitors to Aberdeen will be pointed in the right direction thanks to four new totem poles installed at key locations in the city-centre.
The signs – which show the way to retail, civic, leisure, heritage and transport destinations – are part of a £100,000 pilot project led by Aberdeen Inspired with the support of Aberdeen City Council.
After six months, the success of the signs will be evaluated and more may be installed across the rest of the city.
Craig Stevenson, Aberdeen Inspired director, said the aim was to give first-time visitors a positive and safe experience take in parts that they might not initially think of visiting,” he said.
“Aberdeen is a historic city with a number of hidden gems at its heart and we very much want to raise the awareness of these and encourage visitors to explore them.
“Areas such as the Castlegate, the West End, Crown Street and Langstane Place all have a fantastic offering and it is our aim to contribute to the regeneration of these sections.”
