A fire crew attended the scene in Alexander Drive in Aberdeen at about noon, after receiving reports of a burst hydrant. Last night a Scottish Water spokesman said the hydrant had been “wrongly turned on by a third party”. He said: “It caused localised flooding and low water pressure to some properties in the area. “A Scottish Water engineer turned the hydrant off and normal supplies were restored soon afterwards. “We apologise for any inconvenience to affected customers in the area.”
