A man is to go on trial accused of carrying out a string of assaults on his wife and former partner.
David Cox, 63, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where he denied five charges against him which included assaulting one of the women while she was pregnant.
It is alleged Cox assaulted Rosemary Ringwood at an address in Glassel, Banchory, between July 1 and 31, 1990.
On one occasion he is alleged to have pinned her down with his body before compressing his hands around her neck.
He is further accused of assaulting her between December 1 and 25, 1992.
He is also facing two charges of assaulting Corrina Geddes or Cox between January 1, 1993, and December 31, 1993, at an address in Glassel.
It is alleged he assaulted her on various occasions between January 1, 1994 and June 30, 2013.
The charge against him also states that Cox presented a knife at her and it is alleged on one occasion while she was pregnant he pushed her to the ground.
Cox also faces a further charge of assault between January 1999 and November 2012.
At yesterday’s pre-trial hearing defence agent Gregor Kelly entered not guilty pleas on behalf of Cox, whose address was given in court as 18 Queens Court, Inchmarlo Golf Club, Inchmarlo, Banchory.
He will go on trial in front of a jury next month.
