Police have said they are following a “positive line of inquiry” in the hunt for men involved in an apparent road-rage incident on a busy Aberdeen street.
Thousands of pounds’ worth of damage was caused after seven cars were smashed into in Hutcheon Street on Monday afternoon.
Rush-hour traffic was also thrown into chaos as police closed the street between Berryden Road and George Street.
Witnesses described how three men in a white Volkswagen Golf fled the scene after colliding head-on with a Ford Focus.
One bystander said the group in the Golf had thrown spanners at the Ford in the run-up to the crash.
A driver who was nearby at the time said her car had been hit by a wrench.
The occupants of the Golf then fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of devastation.
Yesterday, a spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Inquiries are on-going, however we are following a positive line of inquiry.
“We are looking for two males in particular that police would like to speak to.”
