Two abandoned Cocker Spaniel puppies named after gold-medal winning Commonwealth Games cyclists are up for adoption.
The stray dogs at Battersea’s Old Windsor Dogs and Cats Home were named after Aberdeen cyclist Neil Fachie and his pilot Craig MacLean, of Grantown.
The eight-week old pooches, along with three other litter mates, were dumped on the doorstep of a Berkshire home before being brought to the rescue centre.
The cycling pair won their second gold medals at the men’s sprint B2 tandem final at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday .
The centre is naming a number of it’s 400 dogs and 250 cats after the home nation’s gold medalists, labelling them “commonwealth residents”.
Carly Whyborn, head of operations at Old Windsor Dogs and Cats Home, said: “We really hope Neil and Craig will find loving homes and can celebrate our Scottish cyclists’ success with finding new families.
“Neil and Craig definitely live up to their namesakes – they’re agile, intelligent and clearly have their focus on the prize of happy futures.”
