Two offshore helicopters were forced to make emergency landings at Aberdeen Airport in separate incidents within little over an hour.
The first occurrence involving a CHC Scotia aircraft with 18 people on board took place at around 10.30am.
Control staff received a report of suspected mechanical problems from the pilot.
A spokeswoman for the airport said the helicopter landed safely at 11am and emergency action had been taken as a precautionary measure.
A CHC spokesman said: “An aircraft landed safely after an undercarriage indicator came on during the approach to Aberdeen Airport.
“Our engineering team is now inspecting the aircraft and it will be subject to rigorous engineering checks before returning to service.”
At midday, a Bond Super Puma helicopter crew also reported difficulties, but managed to land safely.
The response to both incidents involved police and fire crews.
A Bond Aviation Group spokesman said: “We can confirm that an AS332L2 helicopter landed safely at Aberdeen airport after crew reported a potential technical issue.
“Emergency services were alerted as a routine precaution but were not required. The aircraft is now being examined by engineers.”
A spokeswoman for the airport said flights were not affected by the incidents.
