A child has been airlifted to hospital after a two-car crash on the A90 Aberdeen to Fraserburgh road.
Four other people, including another child, have also been taken to hospital.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene, just south of Rathen, at about 12.50pm.
Firefighters worked to free passengers from the silver Volkswagon Passat and blue Peugeot 308.
The two children, who were in the blue car with a woman, are believed to have suffered leg injuries. They have all been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The occupants of the silver car have also been taken to hospital.
The road has been closed at the junction with the B9032 Memsie and the Cortes junction while an investigation is carried out.
