A man, believed to be in his 70s, has been taken to hospital following an early morning house fire in Aberdeenshire.
Two fire crews from Ellon were called to the fire at the town’s Esslemont Circle at around 7.15am.
The crews used breathing apparatus, house reel jets and positive pressure ventilation fans to fight the blaze.
A fire spokesman said: “We did have two appliances, but we’ve just got the one there now.”
A police spokeswoman said: “We have been alerted by the fire and we were called at 7.20am this morning, a male casualty is away to ARI. That’s all we have got at the moment.”
She added that an investigation would be carried out, led by the fire service..
An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We have taken one male casualty to accident and emergency in Aberdeen, he has burns but we can’t say how serious at the moment.”
