Volunteers who are willing to get their paws dirty are needed to help at a north-east country park this weekend.
A new agility course and training area will be built at the dog park at Haddo House and Country Park, near Ellon.
Human help is needed to build and paint the area, while canines are being invited to head along to try it out. The four-legged athletes can test their skills on various obstacles, including tunnels and jumps.
The project is the latest upgrade to the country park, which has recently undergone a £1.8million regeneration.
Buildings and monuments have been spruced up, new paths and bridges have been installed and a new visitor centre has opened. Kids of all ages have also been enjoying the new adventure playground, which includes a zip wire.
Now the team at the popular park have turned the focus to their four-legged visitors.
Seasonal visitor officer Harriet Andrew said: “Haddo has always been seen as a great place for dogs and their owners.
“We’ve built a fantastic adventure play area for children and we believe that our canine companions deserve something new too.”
The volunteer building day will be held on Saturday from 10am, with tools and equipment provided. Teas, coffees and biscuits will also be available free of charge. There will be tasks for volunteers of all ages and abilities.
It is just one of several volunteering opportunities available at Haddo.
Ms Andrew added: “We have quite a few other volunteer events going on for those looking for something different. We have spaces to train as tour guides to show people around the estate, we have a lot of wildlife surveys going on, and we also have a new squirrel hide which needs volunteers to keep it clean and filled up.”
