Aberdeenshire homes hit by power cut

Hundreds of homes in the north-east have been hit by a power cut.

Up to 700 homes in Oldmeldrum, Tarves, Ellon and Inverurie have lost their supply.

Worst affected postcodes include those in the AB14 and AB15 regions

Energy firm Scottish and Southern Energy has issued an apology on Twitter to customers, and hope to have the power restored by 11.30pm.

Apologies to customers affected by the #Powercut in #OldMeldrum #Tarves #Ellon #Inverurie we expect to restore supplies by 23:30 tonight.
