One of the Aberdeen dolphins - now in the River Dee
Flood waters have engulfed communities across the north of Scotland – with Moray, parts of Aberdeenshire and Highlands worst hit.
Aberdeen city has been battered by winds and the beach esplanade was closed for a period of time this afternoon.
But on the whole the city has been spared the serious flooding of elsewhere – with the exception of the River Dee which has managed to engulf one of the dolphin statues along its bank.
Hopefully the sculpture won’t be too badly damaged from its encounter with the flood waters.
