A celebration of traditional Scottish music and culture will be held at a north-east beauty spot later this month.
The Homecoming festival at Fyvie will kick off with the Fiddlers Feast, a concert featuring Royal Deeside violin maestro Paul Anderson.
The line-up for the Fyvie Castle gig also includes the Garioch Fiddlers and musicians Nicola Auchnie, Ken Slaven and brothers George and Stuart Davidson.
Members of the audience will also be encouraged to take along their own fiddles and join in with parts of the programme.
The four-day festival will see the village of Fyvie come alive with a range of activities and entertainment. As well as the Fiddlers Feast there will be Burns supper, a folk concert, ceilidh and service of praise, amongst others.
The festival, which runs from Thursday, August 28, will be opened by Sir George Forbes-Leith, the Laird of Fyvie. The show is being supported by Aberdeenshire Council, the National Trust for Scotland and VisitScotland.
Anne Iravani, who chairs the organising committee, said last night: “We are just delighted to have this line-up of such talented musicians to open our festival and I am sure it will prove to be a very memorable evening.”
VisitScotland regional director Philip Smith added: “Fiddlers Feast looks set to be a fantastic celebration of this iconic Scottish instrument and we hope many of those attending will join and play along too.
“Homecoming gives communities from every corner of Scotland the opportunity to celebrate all the great things about this country and highlight our many assets. A similar festival was held at Fyvie in 2009 and we would hope this will only build on that success.”
