A north-east drugs charity has launched a website for people with addiction problems and their families.
The new Drugs Action resource goes live today and is part of the agency’s plan to reach a wider range of people who are concerned about alcohol and drugs.
Built by Aberdeen local enterprise Shmu, the website offers information and practical advice.
Questions can be e-mailed directly to the DA helpline allowing people to access support while remaining anonymous.
DA’s first infomercial, a short film telling the stories of service users who have come to the charity for help, features local actors.
Chief executive Luan Grugeon said: “We recognise that increasingly people get their facts regarding alcohol and other drugs from the internet.
“We want to ensure that people in the north-east have access to useful, factual information on how to have a healthy relationship with alcohol, how to cut down use of alcohol or other drugs and what help is available locally for people with problems and concerned family members.”
The website is available at www.drugsaction.co.uk.
