An award-winning performing arts group has taken their shows on the road for young people across the north-east.
Weekly Modo circus workshops are being held at Fraserburgh Academy and Mintlaw Academy as well as a site in Peterhead and participants will get the chance to learn juggling, stilt walking and fire dance.
Modo’s mission is to engage with young people and hopefully change their lives for the better.
The group’s artistic director, Martin Danziger, said: “In particular there is a real need for positive, developmental activities that engage young people otherwise not engaged.
“The thrills and skills of circus are particularly apt for this.
“There is a real demand for the type of fun, liberating and skilful activities that Modo brings to local communities.”
A number of the young men and women Mr Danziger and his team have worked with are now Modo volunteers.
Diane Mowatt, 19, says the Modo programe helped change her behaviour.
Miss Mowatt said: “I went through the whole Modo routine back in 2010, taking part in stilt walking.
“Now I’ve come along way and I’m volunteering with Modo.
“They came up to our Fraserburgh Academy class because our class weren’t interested in school. They got us into stilt walking to get us interested and changed our behaviour.
“Now I help at circus workshops and sometimes at the office.”
Last summer Modo was awarded the Aberdeenshire is a Creative Place gong at the council’s Inspiring Aberdeenshire ceremony.
Earlier this month Mr Danziger and his team were praised by firefighters for their diversionary programme which helps combat wilful fireraising.
