The crash, involving a white Renault Master van and a green John Deere tractor, happened at around 7.30am on the B9025 Portsoy to Aberchirder road near the Ord crossroads
An air ambulance was at the scene as emergency services dealt with the accident and the van driver was airlifted to Inverness’s Raigmore Hospital.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “One male was injured and taken in an air ambulance to hospital. The tractor driver is uninjured.
“Both vehicles are off the road which was blocked by emergency vehicles at around 7.55am.
“There were two ambulances at the scene. The male’s condition is not life-threatening but remains serious.”
The road remains closed at the Ord crossroads.
