Picture by Twitter user @armcewan Two crashes on the same road on the outskirts of Aberdeen sparked traffic chaos during rush hour yesterday. Emergency services were called to both accidents on the A944 Westhill to Aberdeen road between 4pm and 5pm. Nobody required medical treatment following the incidents, one of which involved a motorcyclist coming off his vehicle near Kingswells. The incident involving a red Honda CBR happened close to where the road joins the Lang Stracht and Skene Road. The motorcyclist was said to have suffered minor injuries to his ankle, but did not require hospital treatment. A Toyota Rav and a Ford Transit van also collided on the A944 road at the Fives Miles Garage. Nobody was injured in the crash. Both crashes blocked parts of the busy eastbound road, causing traffic to tail back past the road’s junction with the Brodiach road. Vehicles were unable to move from 4.30pm all past the Kingswells Prime Four Business Park while emergency services dealt with the two situations. The crashes were made passable by 5pm, when traffic began to ease.
