Three men will appear in court today in connection with a spate of robberies across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
The group, two aged 18 and another who is 15-years-old, have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to sneak-in thefts at the exclusive Oakhill Grange area of Aberdeen and attempted break-ins at Blackburn.
Police have urged the public to remain vigilant of all suspicious behaviour and to take appropriate security measures to avoid becoming victims of “opportunistic thieves”.
A grey Audi A6 was also stolen from the Woodstock Road area between Sunday night and Monday morning.
The vehicle was later recovered in the Sett Road area of Blackburn thanks to information from members of the public.
Detective Chief Inspector David Hadden said: “Officers from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are working together to target criminals who are sneaking into properties to steal popular items such as phones, laptops and car keys.
“It is vital that the community remain vigilant to this type of crime and take simple security measures, such as locking doors and windows and leaving keys out of easy reach.
“We have officers conducting security surveys and additional patrols have been deployed to deter criminal activity and we will continue to do so but we need the co-operation of the public to take simple security measures to prevent these crimes from happening.
“I would also like to thank members of the public in Blackburn who reported suspicious activity to us during the early hours of the morning which allowed officers, with the assistance from specialist support including police dogs, to quickly apprehend three men who have now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
