The vehicle caught fire at around 9pm on the farm between Fyvie and Turriff, prompting the farmer to alert the fire and rescue service. Two fire appliances, including a water carrier, were sent from Turriff following the call and brought the fire under control by just before 10pm. They used one hose reel jet, small cutting gear and lighting to extinguish the fire. Nobody was hurt during the fire, the cause of which was an electrical fault in the combine. It comes following a combine fire on a farm near Buckie on Tuesday evening. The farming vehicle caught fire just after 7pm on Tuesday in a field off the A98 Buckie to Fochabers road, on Cuttlebrae Farm, Clochan. Two fire appliances from Elgin and Fochabers were called and had the blaze under control by 8.30pm.
