An Aberdeenshire councillor who served his Troup constituents for more than 12 years has died.
John Duncan, a retired farmer, was a Conservative who represented the communities of Macduff, King Edward, New Aberdour, Rosehearty, Sandhaven and his home village of Gamrie.
First elected in 2002, Mr Duncan served on numerous committees including social work and housing and the Banff and Buchan area committee.
He also served on the Peterhead prison visiting committee, the policy and budget steering group and the licensing board.
Council leader Jim Gifford said Mr Duncan would be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
