Five adults and a child have been taken to hospital in Aberdeen following a serious road accident near Inverurie.
The two-vehicle crash, involving a green Volkswagan Golf and a silver Ford C-Max, happened on the B993 Port Elphinstone to Keithhall road at shortly after 11am.
One man in his 20s was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance after sustaining a chest injury.
Paramedics took another man, three women and a child to hospital by ambulance.
Police said one of the women – a passenger in the silver Ford – was elderly and had suffered a hip injury.
The man flown to hospital is believed to have been travelling in the Polo.
A police spokesman described his injuries as serious but not life-threatening.
Four ambulances, an air ambulance and two fire engines attended the accident, which happened near the B993’s junction with the Kinmuck road.
Fire crews used cutting equipment to free two of the casualties from the wreckage.
