The team behind an Aberdeen civic pride campaign has been recognised at the 2014 Beautiful Scotland awards.
The Business Improvement District Trophy was awarded to the city in recognition of efforts in boosting Aberdeen’s appeal.
The award effort was led by Aberdeen Inspired as part of its Team Aberdeen campaign – the umbrella under which a range of projects designed to instil a sense of pride in the heart of the city are being run.
Angela Joss, project manager with Aberdeen Inspired and leader of the campaign, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the excellent work being carried out in Aberdeen was recognised by the Beautiful Scotland judges.
“It was such a privilege for us to share the big steps being made in the business improvement district and highlight the work of Team Aberdeen. We have made great strides so far and are determined to keep this momentum going.
“This is an effort that involves a lot of people working together for the good of Aberdeen, which has so much to offer.
The effort has been supported by a range of stakeholders including Aberdeen City Council, businesses such as Marks & Spencer and John Lewis, and volunteer organisations.
Several changes have been carried out around the city including installing hanging baskets, window boxes and planters in various parts of the business improvement district, and putting together art and information displays in the city’s McCombie’s Court and Adelphi Lane.
The group also received a Silver Gilt medal.
