A 30-year-old man was wounded in Ash-Hill Place just before 7pm on Thursday night. It is understood that the wounded man suffered only minor injuries. A 32-year-old man is helping police with their inquiries. Police would not discuss the weapon used. A spokeswoman confirmed: “A 32-year-old male has been detained and is assisting the police with their inquiries.” A resident of Ash-Hill Place, who did not want to be named, said police had shut off part of the estate for several hours. He said: “I only realised something was going on because I had ordered a takeaway and the delivery driver couldn’t get in. “I didn’t see anything happen, I was out round the other side of the flats having a smoke, but there’s something going on here every week.” Another resident added: “There must have been between a dozen and 15 police officers here, including forensics. “They were outside the building for a while and then came round and interviewed everyone – there was massive disruption. “This is the second time there’s been an incident here in less than a month.”
