Police are hunting thieves who stole two high-performance cars worth more than £100,000 from an Aberdeen dealership.
The new vehicles – a £60,000 red Audi RS5 and a £43,000 blue Audi S5 – were taken from Aberdeen Audi, part of the John Clark Motor Group, on Abbotswell Road, on Friday night.
The theft took place at around 11pm, four hours after the premises shut for the night.
It is understood the cars, which were both unregistered and without license plates, were situated within the main atrium of the car dealership at the time.
At the scene yesterday, a large pane of glass beside the front door was missing, with a sheet of wood in its place.
The business was running as normal.
Police last night confirmed they were investigating the theft – and appealed for anyone with any information, or who might have seen the vehicles, to get in touch.
“The vehicles stolen are a red Audi RS5 and a blue Audi S5 that has a distinctive black panoramic sunroof and two tone black and silver sports interior,” a spokesman said.
“Both vehicles are new, unregistered and were not bearing registration plates at the time of the theft.
“Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who has seen these vehicles or have any information relating to the incident to contact them.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the garage at the time of the incident to contact them.”
The Aberdeen Audi group has been an advocate of car safety, offering advice last year when a crime wave hit the city of youngsters stealing premium, high-performance cars from outside people’s homes.
Bosses warned car owners to “be vigilant” following a spate of thefts of Audi models and BMWs.
No one from the company was available for comment last night.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous.
