Man dies after being hit by lorry

A man has died after being hit by a lorry near a north-east farm.

The accident happened on the Fyvie to Cuminestown road at about 4.15pm.

The man died at the scene.

The unclassified road will be shut for several hours will collision inspectors examine the scene.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a man has died following a serious road traffic collision this afternoon.

“The collision involved a lorry and a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian died at the scene and the driver of the lorry was uninjured.

“Anyone who was travelling on the road shortly before the collision occurred and saw the male pedestrian is asked to contact us on 101.”
