The banners – which are on The Parkway and back on to Carnoustie Gardens – were targeted on Monday. A flag was torched and a banner was daubed with graffiti and cracked. Local Yes campaigners also claim around nine other banners were stolen throughout the area. There has been a growing number of these types of incidents across the city and wider area, with both Yes and No banners targeted. Kevin Stewart, MSP for Aberdeen Central, was at the Yes hub on Links Road earlier today. He said: “What I would say to whoever out there is doing these things is that their actions are undemocratic. “This should be about a free, open, transparent democracy and people’s property and signs should be left well alone.” Police say enquiries are ongoing into the incident but no arrests have made.
