Buildings across the north-east will be thrown open to the public today.
Doors Open Day, coordinated by the Scottish Civil Trust, is annual free architectural event designed to give the public access to some of the country’s most historically significant buildings.
This year, there are 22 events being held across Aberdeenshire involving civic trusts, charities and heritage organisations.
Buildings taking part in this year’s event include World’s End at Fraserburgh, Maggie’s Hoosie in Inverallochy, and the Meal Mill at Sandhaven.
Victor Sutherland, coxswain of Fraserburgh lifeboat, is also looking forward to welcoming visitors to the station and said the event helped to promote the work the RNLI does.
Hes said: “It lets them know the work the station and the crew, who are volunteers, carry out. “It promotes the RNLI and the dangers the crew face.
“We did it a couple years ago, the folk that did come in enjoyed it.”
Mr Sutherland added visitors would be treated to a tour of the station and, weather permitting, offered a chance to go onto Fraserburgh’s 46ft, Trent-class lifeboat – the Willie and May Gall.
He added: “They’ll get a tour of the station, and there will be crew here to answer any questions they have. They’ll also get to see some of the equipment and learn the importance of safety at sea.
“I just hope we get a good turnout and we can help increase their safety, but they know that we’re here to help them when and if they require it.”
