The woman has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries. The attack happened at about 3pm, but the dog has not yet been traced. A police spokeswoman confirmed the dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She said police officers are still at the scene trying find it. It is thought the woman’s injuries are serious but are not believed to be life threatening.
