A north-east cancer support charity has issued a fresh appeal for volunteers in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
CLAN Cancer Support has provided free information and support to cancer sufferers and their families for more than 30 years.
More than 400 volunteers support their work but more are now required, with full training given to those willing to listen to patients and provide them with emotional support.
Jane Adams, CLAN’s volunteer co-ordinator, said: “We would like to increase the number of support volunteers in both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and we’d be delighted to hear from those looking to get involved with the charity.
“People who volunteer with CLAN can often find it very rewarding as well as a great method of giving something back to a charity that works in their local community. You don’t need to be an expert in support volunteering; full training will be given and we’re always here to help you on every step of the way.”
Anyone interested in becoming involved should register their interest by contacting 01224 647000.
